I was asked the question, “What does it mean to you when someone says love yourself?”
I had to quickly respond, but I was grateful I could even answer that question today.
Four years ago I would’ve been at a loss for words. I responded with this:
For me, it means to accept who I am and where I am in life. It also means I’ve accepted my faults, quirks, ups and downs.
The things I’ve done wrong, and all those times I used to want to change. They’ve all made me who I am today.
When we accept our past-the good, the bad, and the ugly-we begin to love ourselves. To understand who we are and what makes us tick.
